Interview #2: Debbie Johnsen

Back in 1989, just as the Mats were releasing Don’t Tell A Soul, Debbie was an intern working for the band’s NYC managers at High Noon Entertainment. She first heard the band around the time of Pleased to Meet Me when a friend took her to see them at the Ritz. Her words: “It was a normal concert that just progressed into total insanity. They were getting seriously drunk as the night wore on and starting throwing rolls of toilet paper into the audience.”
