Replacements Tribute

Fun show last night at First Ave and 7th St. Entry last night for those who missed it. There was a festive feel to the night as you walked back between the main room and the Entry, almost like it was a summer block party (which was definitely welcome as the days get colder and summer seems less and less like a reality in Minnesota but more like some half-remembered dream). Highlights of the night were Gospel Gossip who opened the main room with covers of “Left of the Dial” and “Can’t Hardly Wait” along with a couple others and John Swardson in the Entry who I arrived in time to hear playing Hüsker Dü’s “Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hill” followed by The Replacements’ “The Ledge.” And hello to everyone I talked to at the show!
