Only 1 Original Grant Hart Drawing Left

We’re down to the last three days of our Kickstarter drive and as of now there’s only one original Grant Hart drawing left, so if you’ve had your eye on it and been putting off taking the plunge, now’s the time to do so. Also still available are some associate and executive producer credits, dinner with Grant and the crew in Minneapolis, and the opportunity to sit in on the editing process or be a production assistant for a day, along with posters, DVDs and stickers. If you haven’t already, check out our Kickstarter page here, and if you’ve already donated, many, many, many thanks!

New “Every Everything” Teaser is up

We’re still putting together screenings for CMO but right now our focus is turned to our new film, “Every Everything: The Music, Life & Times of Grant Hart.” If you haven’t yet, go check out our Kickstarter page. We’re about $8,000 short of our goal right now with 11 days to go in the campaign, so if you’re able to help us we’d very much appreciate it. You can also watch a new teaser for the movie here, using footage that we shot with Grant earlier this month in New Haven.

13 Days to Go On Our Kickstarter Drive

We’re down to the last 13 days of our Kickstarter drive for “Every Everything: The Music, Life & Times of Grant Hart” and we’re 60% of the way to our goal. We’ve got some really great rewards still, like personalized line drawings of you or any other subject you choose done by Grant, the chance to be a production assistant for a day or spend time in our editing suite, or dinner with Grant and the crew. If you haven’t already, please click on the hyperlink above and see if you can help us out. Thanks!

Every Everything: The Music, Life & Times of Grant Hart

Though we aren’t finished screening Color Me Obsessed around these here States, we are pleased and proud to announce our brand new music documentary, Every Everything: The Music, Life & Times of Grant Hart. As I’m sure most of you realize, Grant Hart was the drummer, singer, and co-songwriter of The Replacements principle competition in the Twin Cities, Hüsker Dü. Along with the Mats, the Hüskers blazed a trail and created the template that nearly every guitar-based band after them would follow (and which some of whom, like Nirvana, would get credit for creating themselves). In addition to being one of the most influential musicians of the last thirty years, Grant is also an accomplished visual artist, working in both fine and graphic arts. The film, Every Everything will be told entirely through the words of Grant Hart, and will cover everything from his early influences, to his time in Hüsker Dü, to his obsessions with Marcel Duchamp and Studebakers and on through his work today — in short, everything: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Below you can find a link to our Kickstart page where we’re raising money to fund the film. Check it out — there are some truly amazing rewards for any fan of Grant, Hüsker Dü, the Twin Cities music scene, or just punk rock in general (such as personalized line drawings by Grant Hart himself, the chance to sit in on the editing process or be part of the film crew for a day, dinner in Minneapolis with Grant and the crew, the opportunity to get your name in the opening credits as an Executive or Associate Producer — and the list goes on). And if you like what you see, please be sure to post this anywhere and everywhere fellow music fans might see it. Thanks!

34, 34 Hours to go…

… to pre-order a DVD copy of Color Me Obsessed. You can do that through our Kickstarter page here. It will be your last chance to do so before sometime next year. If you do pre-order through Kickstarter, we expect to mail phase 7 DVDs sometime in July.

Kickstarter, Phase 7

It’s too late to get your name in the credits, but you can still pre-order a DVD copy of Color Me Obsessed and have it in your eager little palms a full year before it’s available to the general public. How? Through our Kickstarter page (which helps pay for film festival submissions, among other things). If you check out the side bar, you can also get your hands on some other neat rewards like CMO bumper stickers, limited edition posters and T-shirts, and uncut interviews with the subjects of your choice.

12 Hours To Go

On our Kickstarter site. If you’d like to get your name in the credits as an Associate or Executive Producer, or even just in the Thank Yous at the end, this is your last chance. By mid-January we’ll be doing our sound mix and color correction and everything will be locked.

Shiftless When Idle

As you’ve probably noticed, the blog here has been kind of quiet lately, mostly because there’s not a whole lot of interesting stuff going on right now. We did manage to fit in a couple more interviews last week (in Ohio), but other than that we’re steaming ahead toward locking down a final cut of the film. In the meantime, as mentioned in an earlier post, we’ve started the submission process for film festivals, though there’s nothing to report on that front as of yet (fingers crossed). And if you haven’t already, check out our director’s blog over at Guy With Typewriter where Gorman has been serializing the process of making Color Me Obsessed from pre- all the way through post-production.

Lastly, a big shout out of thanks to all who donated to each and every one of our Kickstarter pages. We truly could not have made this movie without the help of all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

New post from Gorman and the last hours of Kickstarter

First up, our director, Gorman Bechard, has part 6 of the making of Color Me Obsessed over at his blog, Guy With Typewriter. You can read that here.

And second on the agenda, our current Kickstarter page has only 52 hours left, which means that if you’d still like to see your name in the “Special Thanks To” section, this is your last chance. It’s also the last chance to get a lot of the rewards that we’re offering for donating to the movie. You can learn more about that (and see our latest trailer if you haven’t already) here.
